Privacy Policy
Dottie BakeryHouse is a small cake studio in Dublin, Ireland. This page explains what happens to the information you send us through the order request form on this website.
What we collect
Only what you type into the order request form:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- Your preferred date, number of servings and cake type
- Optional details: flavour, theme or character, colour preferences, budget range and any extra notes
- An optional inspiration photo, if you choose to attach one
We also record the IP address the request came from, purely to limit spam submissions. We do not use analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies on this site.
Why we collect it
To answer your request: to design your cake, confirm availability, quote a price and arrange collection or delivery. We do not send marketing emails and we do not add you to a mailing list.
Where it is stored
Each request is written to a file on the server that runs this website and is emailed to dottiebakeryhouse@gmail.com, where it stays in our Gmail inbox. The email is sent over an encrypted connection to Google's mail servers.
Who we share it with
Nobody. We never sell, rent or pass your details to third parties. The only companies that technically handle your data are our hosting provider (which runs the server) and Google (which delivers and stores the email).
How long we keep it
We keep order requests for as long as we need them to run the business — typically so we can look back at a previous cake you ordered. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email dottiebakeryhouse@gmail.com and we will action it. If you are not happy with how we respond, you can contact the Irish Data Protection Commission.
The photographs on this site are our own work, published on our Instagram account @dottie_studio_. If you message us on Instagram, that conversation is covered by Instagram's own privacy policy, not this one.
